DATEV must always guarantee maximum security for its clients — i.e. tax consultants, auditors and lawyers as well as their clients. These increased security requirements, which are intended to satisfy over 300,000 customers, represent a major challenge. The requirements also apply to the more than 200 existing products as well as to the new cloud solutions that DATEV is currently developing as part of its 2025 digital agenda.
The Nuremberg-based company's digital agenda also includes the “DATEVASP service portal”. This portal is the central point of contact for various administrative tasks and assistance relating to the “DateVasp” IT outsourcing solution. This includes standardized services such as resetting passwords, logging off sessions or even activating a mobile workplace for the respective users. Assecor provided DATEV with significant support in the development of a cloud-based “DATEVASP service portal.”
One of the biggest challenges was to integrate the forms previously mostly used as faxes into the portal in a user-friendly way. DATEV opted for Wizards, which are not only user-friendly, but also significantly increase user-specific acceptance of the new solution due to its simplicity. Other exemplary areas of application include the authorization and registration of new users and devices within the DATEV network. In this regard, DATEV has recognized the latent automation potential and has successively summarized the processes in a coherent service portal through digitization measures.
Together with Assecor as a strategic partner, DATEV has implemented a service portal with which DATEV customers are able to independently carry out various services relating to the individual use of the “DateVasp” software suite without being dependent on support working hours.
The emphatic digital workflows have significantly reduced both processing times and the incidence of errors. The solution is also extremely easy to scale.
