For its customers - i.e. tax consultants, auditors and lawyers as well as their clients - DATEV must always guarantee the highest level of security. In other words, these are increased security requirements to satisfy more than 300,000 customers. And these requirements apply to the more than 200 products just as they do to the new cloud solutions that DATEV is developing as part of its Digital Agenda 2025. The Nuremberg-based company's digital agenda also includes the 'DATEVasp service portal'. The portal is the central point of contact for various administrative tasks related to its IT outsourcing solution' DATEVasp'. Among them are standardized services such as resetting passwords, logging off sessions or enabling users for the mobile workplace. We supported DATEV in the project of a cloud-based DATEVasp service portal.
Challenge
One of the biggest challenges was to incorporate the forms, which were previously mostly used as faxes, into the portal in the most user-friendly way possible. DATEV decided to use wizards that are not only user-friendly but also increase acceptance towards the new solution. Other examples include authorizing and registering new users and end devices in their network. Here, DATEV recognized the potential for automation and, by digitizing these processes, combined them in an effective service portal, reshaped them and thought them through further.
Solution
Together with Assecor as a strategic partner, DATEV implemented a service portal that allows DATEV customers to perform various services related to the individual usage settings of the software suite 'DATEVasp' themselves, without being dependent on the working hours of support.
The digital workflows have reduced overall processing times and the susceptibility to errors. What's more, the solution is easily scalable.
