Technical manufacturer support for the outdated software, which was still in use at Stromnetz Berlin (SNB), was about to expire soon: this posed a real security risk. Accordingly, the version that was still in use would no longer be able to meet the necessary safety standards. There was no doubt that the software environment needed to be updated. In addition, a comprehensive technical update should enable new forms of cooperation. The aim was to be able to work with both internal and external employees without media disruption, ideally from anywhere and from various devices. It was therefore necessary to make the transfer to a new software solution as smooth as possible for the 1,400 employees of the SNB.
Assecor provided the SNB with technical and communication support during the rollout of Office 365. The software solution was expanded to include several components from the Microsoft product range and supplemented with state-of-the-art security features. Assecor also acted in an advisory capacity: the focus was on various particular processes during the rollout of Office365 (including Skype 4 Business and Cloud Services). In addition, the SNB received significant support in terms of IT support (in particular first-level support and quality assurance) and general project management.
